Birthday Card for Mom

Hi Everyone.  This is  a birthday card I made for my mom.  Have you ever had one of those cards that you just worked and worked and still weren't quite satisfied when it was finished?  This is one of those cards for me. I had the perfect card in my head but just didn't get there lol.  The image is from Crafts and Me and I colored her with Prismacolor colored pencils, OMS, Copics and of course some stickles.

Birthday Card for Aimee

 Hi everyone! I am so bummed about Google Reader...UGH! I have followed many of you and joined Bloglovin.  I hope it is a painless transition. This is a birthday card I made for my friend Aimee.  I used Mo Manning's "Big Shoes".  This image totally fits Aimee.  She has shoes, coats, purses, jewelry to match every single outfit.  

The sentiment inside says "Count Your Life in Smiles" Happy Birthday.  I colored the skin with Copic Markers and the rest of the image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and OMS.

Baby Girl Card

Hi everyone! This is a baby girl card I made for my dear friend Aimee's daughter Amber. She will be having a baby girl any day. It of course had to be girly and blingy because Aimee will definitely be a Glam-Ma! It will be the best dressed baby in the Midwest:) I used this sweet digi image from Sugar Nellie "Bambino". The background heart paper is digi paper. I colored the baby's skin with Copic Markers and the Hat with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and OMS.  Also stickles :)

Christmas Card 2

Hi Everyone! Thanks so much to all who left sweet comments on my Christmas Card 1 post! Welcome also to my new followers :). A special Thank you! to the Catch the Bug Challenge for the 4 images I won for my last card.  I have used another Bugaboo Snow Globe digi for my card number 2. I colored this digi with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and OMS. I used liquid applique on the snow and trees and obviously a lot of stickles! The paper is from an old Provo Craft 6x12 paper stack. Everything I used is a bazillion years old and from my huge stash (except the image).  

 I cased this gorgeous card by Louise at Passion Creations. I try to give the credit where it's due, even if my project doesn't come close to their amazing talent LOL!  I have decided that since artist learn to paint, by coping the masters, I can improve my skills by trying to imitate the card making masters :).

Christmas Card 1

Hi everyone! I am joining many of you in my quest to make most of my Christmas Cards this year.  This of course is #1, yup I am on a roll.

I used this super cute image from Bugaboo. I purchased several of her Snow Globe images soooo you are gonna see a few lol.  I colored her with Copics (skin) and Prismacolor colored pencils and OMS for the rest of the image. I used Liquid Applique for the snow on the image and in the corners of the card.  

I cased this gorgeous card by Claudia Rosa (it was my attempt at casing, I don't think I really came close). I love her work!

Sweet Pea

Hi everyone! Long time no type :). I made this card for my dear friend Aimee, who will be a first time grandma next April.  They just found out it will be a little girl, good thing, she would have had a lot of explaining to do about that leopard print baby coat she bought :). Aimee's daughter would send her an update every week about the size of the baby.  The first text she got was "The baby is the size of a Sweet Pea." So Aimee dubbed the baby Sweet Pea.  Another reason it is a  good thing, she is a girl :).

I used this perfect image from Bugaboo. Bugaboo also had a sale, all digi's 50% off so of course, I bought:) I used Copic markers for my skin tones and Prismacolor Colored Pencils with OMS for the carriage. All of the items used on this card are more than 1 year old.  Even the actual image :)

Birthday card for Dad

Hi everyone! Gosh have I missed making cards! This is a birthday card for my Dad.  Male cards are always a little tough..ugh.  I haven't been totally stagnant these past few months.  Working on projects around the house and researching different aspects of digital art and card making.  For instance, I read that a card with a "visual triangle" is pleasing to the eye and provides balance.  I am sure you all knew that, so in this card I tried the whole triangle thing.  

 

Next Monday I am taking my first photo shop class and I am so excited.  I hope to eventually make my own papers and kits and learn about shading and color.  I am hoping a lot of what I learn will also apply to Copic and Prismacolor Pencil coloring and shading.

Mother's Day Cards

Hi everyone! I am slowly trying to work my way back up to one card a week. I got this beautiful image over on DeviantARt from a wonderful artist who goes by JadeDragonne she has gorgeous images if you have a minute, drop by and show her some love.  I am still so rusty after being out of the craft game for so long.  This is a Mother's Day card for my stepmom.  I still have one to finish for my mom and one for my grandson's mom.  LoL I know..it's Wednesday!

I colored my fairy with Prismacolor colored pencils, OMS and copic markers.  I used some distress inks around the edges.  I used digi paper from Bearly Mine Designs for my tag. That is sooo on my practice list...more work on making those distress stains more uniform and even.  Practice Practice.

A Different kind of Thank You card

Hi everyone.  I recently lost my 14 year old Siamese cat, Moon.  I had an amazing vet, Dr. Hartnet.  She did surgery on him back in December of 2010, and that surgery allowed me to have another year with my sweet Moon. She and her staff were so compassionate with his care.  Dr. Hartnet told me that she believed our pets went to heaven and waited for us, I believe this too. This is my Thank You card to Dr. Hartnet and her staff.  This card represents  my sweet Siamese Moon with his Angel.  Ok, I tried to color the cat Siamese, I am out of practice people, be gentle!

The image is by the amazing Mo Manning. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.  The skin tones are done with Copics. Everything else is from my stash.  One thing moving will do, it will let you know how much stuff you have collected.  It was like shopping! I didn't know I had this or that.

My First Card in almost a YEAR!

Hi Guys!  I am finally back! I won't bore you with the reasons, but I am unpacked, sorted and ready to get back to card making.  I am a bit rusty though, ugh!  I feel like I am starting back at the beginning. 

This is a birthday card for my mom.  I used an image from Teddy Bo.  My mom has a collection of hats she uses for the winter, so this is a perfect image.

Card Envelope Boxes!

Wow, it has been so long since my last post I do not even recognize blogger LOL!  On another note I have moved in and I have been able to unpack everything...except my craft supplies ugh!  Hopefully soon I can be back at it.

Make it Purple! The Little Toy Maker

This is my second entry for Make it Colourful's challenge this week, coloring in purple.  The super cute image is by Jade Dragonne and is another of her Cutiepie images called "The Little Toy Maker" . Make it Purple! Nevaeh

Hi everyone! I am still without craft supplies, just another 30 days ugh! But thankfully Zoe at Make it Colourful allows us to enter a challenge with just a colored image. The Challenge this week at Make it Colourful is to color using purple.  So today I colored Nevaeh from Saturated Canary Digi's! I merged Nevaeh with a halloween background digi.  I colored the moon using this gorgeous card by Vicky Pass as a reference. Mine is not even close to her wonderful work, but I will keep trying!  I am entering this image into one challenge this week at Make it Colourful. Hi everyone! This is Pearl, the Mermaid, drawn be the ubber talented Krista Smith of Saturated Canary Digi Stamps!  I colored her using my prisma pencils and OMS. I cannot wait to get all my craft supplies unpacked and in one place. UGH! I needed stickles for the mermaid and I needed my chalks for the shadows! And last but not least my dp and my card blanks! But..with limited supplies here is my first SCDS! Run over and see what else Krista has to offer!

More Cutiepies! Still no card

Hi Everyone! Here is another "Cutiepie" image from Jade Dragonne! She has a club on Deviant Art  called CutiePie Wonderland and she encourages you to  color her Cutiepies and submit them to the group.  I am entering this image.  Hopefully, I will be fully settled and unpacked by the end of October so I can get back to my card making.  The challenge at Make it Colorful this week is "no black lines". I am so not up to that LOL!  *hugs Zoe.  So I will not be able to enter any challenges this week, but I will enter the contest for the Cutiepies!

Image Only Color Challenge! Make it Grounded

Hi everyone! I am still in exile with limited craft supplies.  Thank goodness for Make it Colourful challenges.  Sweet Zoe lets us enter images only (if that's what we have) or a complete card, colored of course for her challenge.  I discovered a really neat artist Jade Dragonne.  She has these super cute images she calls Cutiepie. The one I colored this week is called Teru Teru Bozu.  She has tons of super cute Cutiepies!  If you stop over please tell her I sent ya! The challenge at Make it Colourful this week was to "ground" your image.  Here is my attempt:

I do not have my photo cube for picture taking so the paper looks really gray and it was stark white lol.  Maybe in another month I will have all my stuff in one place!  The Challenge:
