Wow, it has been so long since my last post I do not even recognize blogger LOL! On another note I have moved in and I have been able to unpack everything...except my craft supplies ugh! Hopefully soon I can be back at it.

On that note, I have searched high and low for card envelope boxes that would not crush my embellies. Tracy has come up with these and she is willing to ship world wide. Make it Purple! The Little Toy Maker

This is my second entry for Make it Colourful's challenge this week, coloring in purple. The super cute image is by Jade Dragonne and is another of her Cutiepie images called "The Little Toy Maker" . I LOVE how she is making her own toys by sewing different parts on the different toys. She is making "FrankenToys LOL> I merged The Little Toy Maker with a word art frame I had in my digi stash. Make it Purple! Nevaeh

Hi everyone! I am still without craft supplies, just another 30 days ugh! But thankfully Zoe at Make it Colourful allows us to enter a challenge with just a colored image. The Challenge this week at Make it Colourful is to color using purple. So today I colored Nevaeh from Saturated Canary Digi's! I merged Nevaeh with a halloween background digi. I colored the moon using this gorgeous card by Vicky Pass as a reference. Mine is not even close to her wonderful work, but I will keep trying! I am entering this image into one challenge this week at Make it Colourful. Special thanks to Zoe and team and thank YOU for looking!

Hi everyone! This is Pearl, the Mermaid, drawn be the ubber talented Krista Smith of Saturated Canary Digi Stamps! I colored her using my prisma pencils and OMS. I cannot wait to get all my craft supplies unpacked and in one place. UGH! I needed stickles for the mermaid and I needed my chalks for the shadows! And last but not least my dp and my card blanks! Hi Everyone! Here is another "Cutiepie" image from Jade Dragonne! She has a club on Deviant Art called CutiePie Wonderland and she encourages you to color her Cutiepies and submit them to the group. I am entering this image. Hopefully, I will be fully settled and unpacked by the end of October so I can get back to my card making. The challenge at Make it Colorful this week is "no black lines". I am so not up to that LOL! *hugs Zoe. So I will not be able to enter any challenges this week, but I will enter the contest for the Cutiepies!

Image Only Color Challenge! Make it Grounded

Hi everyone! I am still in exile with limited craft supplies. Thank goodness for Make it Colourful challenges. Sweet Zoe lets us enter images only (if that's what we have) or a complete card, colored of course for her challenge. I discovered a really neat artist Jade Dragonne. She has these super cute images she calls Cutiepie. The one I colored this week is called Teru Teru Bozu. She has tons of super cute Cutiepies! If you stop over please tell her I sent ya! The challenge at Make it Colourful this week was to "ground" your image. Here is my attempt:

I do not have my photo cube for picture taking so the paper looks really gray and it was stark white lol. Maybe in another month I will have all my stuff in one place! The Challenge:

Hi everyone, this may be a bit long so feel free to skip down lol! I haven't made a card in two whole months, I am going through some kind of withdrawal here. I am in the process (I hope) of buying a new house. The old one sold, the new one is in mortgage process hell (maybe if I sacrifice a small chicken I can get it through). ALL of my craft supplies, except my pencils, markers, card stock for printing, images on the computer and spray fixative, are currently residing at a different address (read self storage). That's right folks, no cuttlebug, no cricut, no embellies *sigh*.

I am currently residing at a one bedroom apartment with my daughter, who assured me that it would be fine, cable and Internet are included in the rent, peachy. Well, I get approximately 10 cable channels..TEN. One of which is the weather channel. Now I don't know about the rest of you but I was quite spoiled with my premium cable. So as of right now, no more REal Housewives of (insert the city I watch them all LOL). No more Investigation Discovery channel (all the crime shows) No more on Demand, *sigh* People in prison have better cable. Oh and the Internet is DSL I was used to high speed cable, so watching blog pictures load portions at a time well that has been a treat.

AND on top of that...no craft supplies. I am the latest castaway to Craftless Island ( read Gilligan's island) At least Gilligan had the professor that could make a radio run on coconut milk. I got nada. I have found I am not the McGyver of Crafting. I cannot make card embelishments out of card board boxes and macaroni lol! Although, I bet the macaroni could be colored with copics.

So I would like to take this opportunity to give a huge hug, (or as she calls them *squeezes*) To Zoe from Make it Crafty. Not only does Zoe have awesome digital images for sale at her store, but she also runs a Challenge Blog called Make it Colourful AND it doesn't require a finished card, just a colored image. She allows you to enter with your fully colored image only as she indicates it is a "coloring challenge". God bless you Zoe!

So, here is my entry for Zoe's latest challenge, coloring dark skin. A huge challenge for me as I have not done many and would like to do them better. So of course, that requires PRACTICE. This is a new image from the incredible Mo Manning "Little Elf Pipa". Oh I thought of all the things I could have done with my supplies, glitter on the trim, bling for berries and bells...but I digress. I use mostly Prisma color pencils and was thrilled to find this tutorial by Dorcas (another crafty angel to my rescue) thankfully posted on the Make It Colourful blog by Jen! Please check out Dorcas' tutorial for yourself, I assure you my very lame attempt doesn't do it justice lol. I need LOTS more practice! So that's right girls hell has officially frozen over as I am only entering One challenge. I feel like the Count from Sesame Street "One, ONE Challenge ah ah".

My card features Toilet Training Tot! I could think of so many sentiments for this image. For example "got crap?", "what a big load", however, I settled on a Digi's With Attitude! I used liquid applique on the diaper to try to give it a fluffy look. I used Liquid pearls on the toilet handle.

My First Tilda!! For Mother's Day!

Hi everyone! This is my second post this weekend so I am truly on a roll. I wonder if it is considered a crafting faux pas to take a picture of the inside of a card AFTER you have signed it? Hey, don't judge me, LOL, I was running out of time! This card is for my mom, and it is my very first Tilda. I used the new sketch at The Sweet Stop and my card went together super easy. The patterned papers on the inside are from the awesome Bearly Mine Designs. The paper, that I added the sentiment to, is called a card insert. Already decorated with a space for you to write or add what ever sentiment you wish. It truly adds a finished look and is so easy with her papers. DWA DT! and a Card

Wow! I am thrilled to announce that I am officially part of the Digi's With Attitude! Design Team. My first ever Design Team, thank you Cindy-Lynn! So, my blogging friends, this is my first ever official Design Team creation:

We could use any DWA image we wanted and I had a hard time choosing, so I chose two images! I decided to use Shopping Tween one of the Tweens With 'Tude and given the current climate of accessorizing with pets, I teamed her up with Angry Anabelle she is one of the Animals With Attitude. One of the things I absolutely LOVE about digi images is the ability to re size and merge them.

The Challenge this week at the DWA Challenge blog is "Anything Goes". The DWA Challenge complete details are available here and I have provided a brief summary:

•Weekly winners will be selected by random draw. There will be one random draw for every 25 entries to a maximum of 4 winners.

•The winner(s) of the random draw will receive a $10.00 Digi's With Attitude! Gift Certificate and a weekly winners badge for their blog.

DWA images are not required to enter but if you have them, we would love to see what you can do with them! So make a new project and come on over to the DWA Challenge Blog and link it up!

I have also become a HUGE fan of digital paper, the background paper for this card is from a digital scrapbook kit. I can re size it to fit my card or embellishment and then I am only using enough ink for the size I need. Storage is simple on the computer and much easier to search and organize than paper stacks (which..I still have a ton of).

The pins were a gift from across the pond. The very generous Linda Wescott had posted a picture on her blog of these wonderful pins she made. Many people complimented her on her creation and she so sweetly sent out a bunch of them and I was the lucky recipient of 6 pins. Thank you again Linda I am also going to try to make my own so stay tuned.

Hi everyone! Well, this has to be some kind of record for me 2 cards in 3 days. Have you ever had one of those days when you are just well...crabby at the wrong people? My dear friend who works with me, was having a bad day...we were all having a bad day. I was angry at another co-worker and snapped at my friend. My friend, a very strong assertive woman, would normally have told me to shove it. However, on this day...she got emotional. I would have much rather been told to shove it, so now I feel like a really tiny piece of dog crap on your shoe LOL. So, I made her a card and hope it makes her laugh.

Hi everyone! I love this image from Fresh Brewed Designs! It's called the Tootin Snowman. As soon as I saw it I started laughing and knew I had to have it! Oh we have all been there..that first time the unfortunate gas escapes in front of your date or significant other. I paired it with the Love is in the Air sentiment because..well given what was in the air, I thought it was funny. The Make it Colourful challenge was to combine purple and blue. I REALLY tried to blend these colors it is so out of my comfort zone. I guess that is how you learn. I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Hi Everyone! I found a new challenge and it's called FlashBack Friday. Basically you make a new post with a previously made card that fits their challenge. A nice way to see where we were and where we are now. I originally posted this card in September of 2009. The image is from The Stamping Boutique. Check out my smooth blending/coloring job LOL. Still not great at it now, but I can see some improvement with a lot more to go LOL. The challenge is your first glitter project. I am pretty sure this was the first one I put on my blog. Open Post to Challenge Hosts and their DT'S

I would like to start by saying Thank You to all the Challenge Hosts and their DT's for all the work they put into challenges. I am awed and inspired by DT projects and I have purchased many products based on those projects. I appreciate the time you take to comment on my little projects, you are truly uplifting and encouraging even though I am obviously a novice.

I hope that my comments will be read in the spirit in which they are offered. An explanation of sorts. I am directing my comments to Challenge Hosts and DT's in case there are some out there that have been offended by the number of challenges I enter for a single project.

I stumbled onto a discussion the other day regarding the number of challenges people enter and I was a little taken aback by the tone of the discussion. I am one of "those" crafters lol. I LOVE to enter challenges and since I usually have 1 card per week, I try to enter my card in as many challenges as I can. Not because of greed, I enter challenges where there are no prizes offered. Of the Challenges that do have a prize I have only won a handful and of those, I can't recall any one card winning more than one challenge, regardless of the number of challenges entered. I enter because I love the feeling of participating with all the real artist out there. You are my peers. The fact that any of you take the time to look at my little contribution is a joy to me.

During the discussion regarding challenges, one DT said she didn't even want to leave a comment on one project because of the large number of challenges entered and she didn't feel the project met the criteria. Personally, I have tried to be more careful about reading guidelines. In the past, I too have missed something that disqualified my card. I never intentionally want to waste any ones time. It takes a LONG time to link all those challenges and I truly only want to participate in the ones my project qualifies for. And please, regardless of your DT obligations, if you are offended by the number of challenges I enter or anything else about my project, do not feel obligated to comment, in fact I would rather you didn't.

I am in no way advocating that all challenges be open without guidelines. To the contrary, I think participants should be good guests and read and respect the rules. There are some challenge blogs that place limits on the number of combined challenges and those limits should be respected.

I could never get a straight answer as to why entering multiple challenges was considered "ridiculous" and I asked nicely. Why is it wrong? Why is it a problem? Why is a certain number "too many"? I was really curious about their opinions, but no one would give me a direct answer. I got "Well..you do it your way and I'll do it mine" or "It's my Opinion" or "Personally, I think it's too many". But that never really answered my question.

It was never my intention to become one of "those" crafters. I thought people put challenges out there because they wanted participants. Many of the themes are exactly the same. I truly fail to see the harm or why it is so frowned upon. I will continue on my merry way entering in those challenges that will have me LOL. To the Challenge Hosts and their DT's, if I have not told you before, let me say now I TRULY appreciate each of you. Thank you for inviting me and other crafters of all skill levels to your blog home, offering us a chair at the table and letting us share with you.

First Christmas Card of 2011 and Challenges

Hi everyone! This is the first Christmas card for my stash for 2011. The image is a digi image, Mollie Mittens Christmas, from Tickled Pink Stamps. The blue and orange papers are a freebie from Bearly-Mine Designs ( I LOVE her papers). The orange paper is from a kit cb CRelly. The doily is from JoAnns and I colored it with Distress ink. The flowers were white and sprayed with home made glimmer mist. The decorative corners were free cut files from the amazing Penny Duncan and I embossed them and colored them with distress ink. Hi everyone. I wanted to share a Thank You card I made for my Vet. My Siamese cat "Moon" was very ill and at 12 years old, it didn't look like he was going to make it. The Vet did surgery and he is doing great! Ok, the cat thinks I have lost my mind, it is our first attempt at "pill administration" it has been an exciting time LOL. The cat digi was a freebie from Wink Wink Ink, you got a regular digi to color anyway you wanted, you got this precolored digi (I used the pre colored digi and I added the doctor's name to the envelope :), and you got a transparent digi to be colored any way you want. I merged the kitty with the vase of flowers (I colored these with Prisma Pencils and OMS I am sorry I don't remember where I got it). All of the papers are digi papers the majority of which are from Cuddlebeez and were also freebies. I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Birthday Card and Challenges

Hi everyone. I made this card for my stash and I decided to try a few new things. This is a digital image from Funky Kits and is a Sugar Nellie (I am SO glad they have digis!) I cut her out with my Nestie and then I embossed and then I used distress ink while the image was still in the Nestie. This is new to me and..obviously needs work LOL. The image was sliding out from under, I am sure I will get the hang of it. The very bottom paper is a digi paper from a kit, this is a very old file and I am sorry I don't know who to credit. The digi patterned paper is a freebie from Bearly Mine Designs. Donna has tons of beautiful digi paper and card inserts. I just ordered a couple of cd's that have 700 papers. I know I know..budget but what a great price for 700 papers! The sentiment is a freebie from Bizzy Becs. The flowers and rhinestones are from my stash and the flourish is new..newer. Sympathy Card and Challenges

Hi everyone. I made this sympathy card for my friend Sandi who lost her grandfather. The Stair Way to Heaven is a digi image from Make it Crafty. The image of the "Grandfather" is one from the awesome Mo Manning. He was actually part of a digi titled "Jack and Ginger" which also featured a female. I asked for and received permission from Mo to remove "Ginger" and merge her image with the Stair Way to Heaven image. I started coloring this 8 different times LOL. I am still not completely happy with my work on this card but I am out of time. I guess you only get better with practice and I bit off more than I could chew LOL! Over reached just a bit. Even Santa..has problem employees and Challenges

Hi everyone, it seems even Santa has problem employees (check out the tongue on the elf). This card is for my boss and that is what the inside sentiment says. Both of these images are from Sassy Cheryl's. I actually heat embossed the tickets (that's why they smeared lol) I used liquid applique and stickles on the hair and beards and then of course distress ink. The ribbon is from my stash (note to self, if the ribbon is thick, place only on top of cardstock). And the bow and bell are from an old Jolee's pack. Christmas Card for a Male and Challenges

This is a male inspired Christmas card. I am pretty sure I CASed this idea from Tim Holtz..last year. Ok..I know the rear tire looks a little flat, however, because of the drop in temperature it has just lost a little air. :) This card was pretty simple to put together and I am happy with how it turned out. Well, I really need a new camera! Maybe Santa will bring me one. You know it is going to be a bad day, when you leave home made glue dots out drying on wax paper and wake up to find them stuck to the cat. I did warn him that many challenges called for things with fur. I am not above sticking him to cardstock.

This digi image is from Charmed Cards and Crafts. They have some beautiful images and several freebies so you can try before you buy. This is Holly and I placed her in a digital frame from a digital kit, I cut out around the frame (and her feet whoo hoo..I can be a card making jedi). The papers are DCWV. 8 Things about me:

I believe Diet Coke is nectar of the Gods. My children have been instructed that, when I leave this earth and go to the great LSS in the sky, that at minimum a two liter bottle of Diet Coke must be placed in my coffin..it's going to be a long trip.
I work for a local court where we deal with mostly traffic and misdemeanors. It is very much like that old show Night Court. Don't make me tell you about naked lawn mower guy.
I try to find humor in most daily things including the stresses. It's how I deal and mostly how I craft :)
I am a papercraft supply hoarder. I have two year old Cricut cartridges still in factory plastic. This has gotten to the point I don't always know what I have or where it is lol. I said I hoarded, I didn't say I always got around to using them.
I love animals. I am my cat's staff member and we had hamsters for awhile (the lil fat girls). I have compassion for all animals even the non pet variety. Example: A skunk moved into my garage, friends said get someone to shoot it, I said I don't want to kill it, I just want it to choose to live else where. I still park in the driveway. Which sucks because it is becoming window scraping season.
I love a bargain, shopping online and free shipping.
I am bowled over by the generosity and willingness to share tips and talent of so many of the papercrafters in blog land. From free products, to tutorials, to giveaways, to those lovely comments of encouragement. I have learned so much and am totally grateful.
I am a Challenge Ho. It takes me all day to make a card so I try to get the most of it LOL!

Wow, first let me apologize for this picture. I had the hardest time with this card today and have no idea why. From the designing to the coloring *sigh*. This is of course Grumpy Gretchen from Digi's with Attitude. Please do not judge the artist based on this card, it's not Gretchen, it's me! Go see for yourself LOL!
